2015 Mano Tinta Red Wine

2015 Mano Tinta Red Wine

The name Mano Tinta (Red Hand in Spanish) is meant to evoke the pride and commitment of farm workers to their craft.  All profits from the sale of this wine are donated to the Fund for Vineyard and Farm Workers, a charitable endowment established by Brian and Johnine Talley to support the farm worker community in San Luis Obispo County.

Ruby red in color, the 2015 Mano Tinta reveals offers brambly aromas of cassis and wild blackberry. Soft notes of fig jam, tobacco, and fennel captivate the palate. Try pairing the 2015 Mano Tinta with goat cheese or peppercorn roasted beef tenderloin.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The 2015 vintage marked the fourth year of the California drought.  Weather during May flowering was unsettled which led to poor pollination and reduced cluster weights. Harvest began early in the Paso Robles area and the low production—a result of both the ongoing drought and smaller clusters—yielded wines with dark color and concentrated flavors.

57% merlot, 43% cabernet franc

We have enjoyed the Mano Tinta reds for since we discovered the reds a number of years ago and love to support the program. We bought a case of the 2014 last year and really enjoyed the blend. This year we bought a case of the 2015 red and think it is even better than last year. We plan to pick up another case before they are all gone. Keep up the great work and wonderful wines.
