The signature white wine of Talley Vineyards, the Estate Chardonnay represents a pure expression of the calcareous soils and cool maritime climate of the Arroyo Grande Valley produced in a classic old world style, incorporating barrel fermentation and aging. This bottling dates to the inaugural vintage of 1986 and was the first Chardonnay produced in the Arroyo Grande Valley.
Welcome to Talley Vineyards
I find that the short days of winter are a great time to reflect on what’s happened over the course of the year and to express gratitude. The 2018 harvest was bountiful and I love the flavors and aromas that are emerging in the wines at this early stage of their development. Meanwhile, we’re bottling our 2017s, which strike the classic Talley balance between concentrated flavors and elegant structure. I can’t wait until we release the 2017 Chardonnays in the spring followed by the Pinot Noirs in the fall.
Flash back two years and you’ll recall that I’ve been touting the quality of our 2016 wines since we harvested them. Recently we were blessed with some of the very best reviews we’ve ever received, including 96 point ratings on both the Rosemary’s Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Both are just about sold out, so let us know ASAP if you want to add these to your collection.
I am grateful for the success we’ve enjoyed and thank those who have contributed to it: our employees who go above and beyond to make and share the wines we produce, as well as our customers who support what we do by choosing to consume those wines.
Best wishes for a joyous holiday season and a wonderful 2019!
Cheers! Brian Talley
