This is the coolest of the Chardonnay sites Talley works with, which gives the wine its distinctive acidity. The Rosemary’s is a rare Chardonnay of true distinction. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.

At once energetic and deep, offering vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors that gain flesh and weight with air. Wonderfully seamless and silky in texture, finishing with strong punch, distinct minerality and striking clarity.

90 Points. WIne Enthusiast, February, 2013. Pure, intense and raw, yet very rich and deep, with layers of perfumed pear, fig, honeysuckle and melon. Slow to unfold, this is exciting now but holds promise for the future. Drink now through 2020.—J.L.

Vineyard Notes

The 2010 year began with average rainfall followed by a very warm spring which enhanced fruit set. The summer and fall months were the coolest on record leading to an exceptionally long growing season. A six day heat spell in mid-September finished the ripening. Yields in the Arroyo Grande Valley were average and the grapes had lower sugar levels and perfectly developed flavors.
