2009 Talley Vineyards Edna Valley Chardonnay
This wine is no longer available.
This chardonnay is layered with aromas of fresh pineapple, kiwi, lemon curd and mandarin orange with subtle hints of gardenia and oak. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is well balanced and consistent with flavors of crisp citrus, vanillin, and a bright minerality that finishes long and elegant. It pairs well with buttery shellfish dishes like shrimp scampi or steamed lobster.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The 2009 year began with a cold winter which led to some frost damage. Bud break was very even and the remainder of the year was marked by mild temperatures and healthy, even vine growth. An intense heat wave occurred in early September causing many grapes to ripen simultaneously. The harvest at Oliver’s Vineyard was slightly larger than average and the quality of the fruit was exceptional with concentrated, intense flavors.
