2009 Bishop's Peak Petite Sirah
Ranchita Canyon Vineyard, Paso Robles
This wine is no longer available.
The 2009 Petite Sirah has an attractive inky purple color reflecting its deep layers of fruit and spice. A mixed bouquet of black currant, blueberry and mocha with hints of sage and anise lead into full bodied, mid-palate flavors of black fruit and spice. This rich wine balances fruit flavors with velvety tannins that lead into a dry finish. This petite sirah would complement grilled skirt steak with a plum reduction sauce
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Ranchita Canyon Vineyard is located on the Eastern side of Paso Robles with south facing hillsides at 1000' to 1400' elevation with primarily chalky, calcareous soil. The first vines were planted in 1970, and now the Hinrichs family owns and operates the vineyard and winery with the goal to achieve rich, concentrated, bold fruit. The 2009 harvest in Paso Robles was plentiful, and the quality of the fruit was exceptional with concentrated, intense flavors.

I had the opportunity to taste this wine with my friend Peter, who received as a gift from his Niece. Hands down.., the best Petit sirah I have had the opportunity to taste. Huge character, with rich exploding flavors of blackberry and spice. I immediately ordered a case and cannot wait until its delivery!
