This pinot noir has a complex bouquet of blackberry, cola, and sandalwood, with hints of vanilla. This full bodied wine has a plush texture, layered with flavors of ripe cherry, dusty chocolate, and spice that finish with medium tannins and balanced acidity. It complements pan roasted duck breast with a wild mushroom risotto.

Wine Profile
Ratings
90 Points. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar. Deep red.  Pungent, spice-accented aromas of fresh red fruits, violet and blood orange.  Juicy, precise and lively, offering taut redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of candied rose.  Finishes with firm grip and very good persistence, leaving notes of candied flowers and spices behind.
Vineyard Notes
The 2009 year began with a cold winter which led to some frost damage. Bud break was very even and the remainder of the year was marked by mild temperatures and healthy, even vine growth. An intense heat wave occurred in early September causing many grapes to ripen simultaneously. The harvest at the Stone Corral Vineyard was slightly larger than average and the quality of the fruit was exceptional with concentrated, intense flavors.
