Deep garnet in color, this cabernet sauvignon has vibrant aromas of boysenberry, blackberry, balanced with earthy pepper and eucalyptus. The mid-palate is full bodied and rich with flavors of dark fruit and dried herbs that finish slightly toasty with lean tannins. Enjoy this wine with grilled sirloin steak, and a wild mushroom reduction sauce.
Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
The 2011 year was wetter than average and spring frost affected many vineyards in the Paso Robles area. Yields were reduced by nearly 30%. One of the coolest summers on record resulted in long hang time and grapes with high natural acidity. The resulting wines balance refreshing acidity with concentrated flavors due to the low yields.
Winemaker Notes
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec, and 2% Merlot grapes
