This full bodied wine is layered with flavors of ripe black fruit and earth that finish soft with plush tannins and balanced acidity. It complements lamb dishes and wild mushroom risotto.

92 Points. Stephen Tanzer, Nov/Dec 2012. Dark red. Seductive, highly perfumed aromas of blackberry, cherry cola, and violet. Lush and creamy but lively, offering sappy dark berry flavors and a hint of fruitcake. Spherical and approachable now. Smoothly blends richness and vivacity and finishes very long and seamless, with lingering sweetness and an echo of candied flowers. The fruit for this wine came entirely from the Stone Corral vineyard.

Vineyard Notes

The 2010 year began with average rainfall followed by a very warm spring, which enhanced fruit set. The summer and fall months were the coolest on record leading to an exceptionally long growing season. A six day heat spell in mid September finished the ripening. Yields in the Edna Valley were average and the grapes had lower sugar levels and perfectly developed flavors.
