A beautiful expression of a classic Chardonnay, the 2012 Edna Valley Chardonnay shows bright aromas of lemon curd and vanilla buttercream. On the palate this medium-bodied wine has notes of crisp green pear and hints of lime, followed by subtle notes of toasted oak and a smooth, long finish. The rich, creamy texture of this wine would pair well with pasta in a light cream sauce or pan seared white fish.

Wine Profile
Ratings
92 Points. Antonio Galloni, July 2014. The 2012 Chardonnay Edna Valley impresses for its depth and resonance. White and yellow stone fruits, melon, pear and spices meld together in a pretty, textured Chardonnay with great balance. Lemon peel, slate and mineral notes add complexity on the saline-infused finish. The 2012 is endowed with a terrific sense of energy. Drink now - 2017.
Vineyard Notes
The 2012 vintage was one of those rare years where both quality and yield were exceptional, probably the best overall since 2005. The growing season was ideal with slightly below average rainfall, moderate canopy growth and very little mildew or botrytis. Due to excellent spring weather, fruit set was ideal. Yields were about 20% above average and the resulting wines are elegant and balanced.
