This wine has rich aromas of lemon zest and crème brulee with a hint of orange blossom.  Initial flavors of fresh apricots and lemon curd give way to a lingering toasty finish.   This wine has a rich, creamy texture balanced by a bright acidity and flintiness characteristic of Rosemary’s Chardonnay. This wine pairs well with oysters or grilled lobster.
Wine Profile
Ratings
93 Points. Vinous, by Antonio Galloni, July 31, 2013. The Chardonnay Rosemary's Vineyard is the most backward and reticent of the 2011 Chardonnays. Minerality an structure dominate. Hints of jasmine, spice and exotic white fruit gradually become more expressive. The layered, beautifully textured finish is especially appealing. I can't wait to see where the 2011 goes over the next handful of years.

95 Points. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Oct 2013. Even more impressive and getting a big “Wow!” in my notes, the mineral-tinged 2011 Chardonnay Rosemary’s Vineyard dishes out thrilling aromas and flavors of citrus blossom, toasted bread, white flowers and hints of poached apples. Silky, elegant and finesse-driven, it builds on the palate and has awesome depth and richness. Count me as a fan. This beauty can be consumed anytime over the coming decade. Drink now-2023.

92 Points. Canlifornia Grapevine, OCT, 2013. Medium-light golden yellow; attractive, nutty, stone fruit and apple aroma with hints of lemon zest and orange blossom; medium-full body; big, rich, deep, firmly structured, apple and pear flavors with bright acidity, mineral notes, and a slightly creamy mouthfeel; lingering aftertaste. Nicely balanced and shows well integrated fruit and oak. Should continue to develop with several more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 14.5% alcohol; 389 cases; 100% Chardonnay; 100% BF; 100% ML; released Spring 2013. (Group Score: 16.3, 2/1/1; My Score: 17 [92/100], second place)

93 Points. Wine Enthusiast - December 2013 Buyer's Guide.Rosemary's is often the best of Talley's single-vineyard bottlings and the 2011 vintage proves this, yet again. It dominates in complexity, depth and elegance. The wine is vast in tropical and citrus fruits, apricots, nectarines and peaches, with new oak and sur lie aging playing important supporting roles. Beautiful to drink now, but should develop dried fruit and nut influences over the next six years.

93 Points. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Oct/Nov 2013. Pale yellow.  Ripe peach, smoky minerals, white flowers and a touch of honey on the nose, lifted by spicy and peppery nuances.  Concentrated and densely packed, offering intense Meyer lemon and pear flavors framed and sharpened by minerals and gingery spice.  Finishes with noteworthy aromatic lift and excellent clarity, leaving iodine and citrus fruit notes behind.  Fans of serious Puligny-Montrachet (and who isn't, really?) owe it to themselves to check this one out.
Vineyard Notes
The 2011 year began with above average rainfall in Southern San Luis Obispo County. Though we were spared the late spring frost that affected other areas, fruit set was reduced by wet spring conditions and yields were about 30% below average. One of the coolest summers on record resulted in long hang time and grapes with high natural acidity. The resulting wines balance refreshing acidity with concentrated flavors due to the low yields.
