This wine has fresh aromas of raspberry, rose petals, and mineral with hints of white pepper. On the palate there are delicate flavors of black fruit and minerals. The texture is silky with a lean, with long, graceful tannins. This wine pairs well with a pan seared duck breast.

93 Points. Wine Advocate, Antonio Galloni, Issue 196, 8/31/13. Rich and seductive, the 2010 Pinot Noir Rosemary’s Vineyard is endowed with serious structure. Black cherries, mint and sweet spices flesh out beautifully in this large-scaled, striking Pinot. This is a vivid, multi-dimensional Pinot from Talley. Layers of sweet, perfumed berries linger in the empty glass. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020.

94 Points. Steve Tanzer (Josh Raynolds), Issue 165, Nov/Dec 2012. "Bright ruby-red. Seductive, highly nuanced bouquet evokes black raspberry, candied rose, underbrush and sandalwood. Supple, broad and sweet, with impressive concentration to its dark fruit, spice and floral flavors. Shows a very suave blend of richness and vivacity and finishes with superb clarity, power and length, leaving floral and blackberry notes behind. Talley told me that the yield from this vineyard was barely a ton and a half per acre in 2010."

Medium Ruby; attractive, forward, intense, spicy, earthy, raspberry and ripe black cherry fruit aroma with herbal notes and hints of rose petal and mocha; meduim to medium-full body; rich, fleshy, black cherry fruit flavors with firm acidity; medium full tannin; lingering aftertaste. A bit closed-in at present, this well structured wine should continue to develop with a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended.

91 Points. Wine Spectator - Web Only 2013. This pure, delicate Pinot delivers a pleasantly understated mix of subtle plum, blueberry, mint and sage flavors that are expansive. Gains depth and a fleshier texture on the long, soothing finish. Drink now through 2022.

96 Points. Wine Enthusiast - March 2013, Online Only. Exceptionally delicious to drink now, this is rich, vibrant and complex. It offers wave after wave of raspberry and cherry pie filling, rose tea, mineral and smoky sandalwood flavors, which are all wrapped into an incredibly fine texture of complex tannins and vibrant acids. The finish is dry and graceful. It’s tough to keep your hands off of this wine, but it should hold in the bottle for 6–8 years, gradually losing fruit and gaining earthy, mushroomy complexities.
Vineyard Notes
The 2010 year began with average rainfall followed by a very warm spring which enhanced fruit set. The summer and fall months were the coolest on record leading to an exceptionally long growing season. A six day heat spell in mid-September finished the ripening. Yields in the Arroyo Grande Valley were average and the grapes had lower sugar levels and perfectly developed flavors.

Wonderful with my Christmas dinner. Talley is by far my family's favorite winery.
