The 2011 Ranchita Canyon Vineyard Petite Sirah has an attractive inky purple color reflecting its deep dark flavors. The spice driven bouquet features hints of dark plum, ripe berry and vanilla bean. Flavors of blackberry and cassis are complimented by notes of coffee bean and baking spices. Silky tannins and a lingering fruity finish are textural highlights. This petite sirah compliments red meat dishes like grilled steak or a gourmet barbequed burger but will also pair nicely with robust aged cheese.

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Ranchita Canyon Vineyard is located on the Eastern side of Paso Robles with south facing hillsides at 1000' to 1400' elevation with primarily chalky, calcareous soil. The first vines were planted in 1970, and now the Hinrichs family owns and farms the vineyard with the goal to achieve rich, concentrated and bold fruit. The 2011 harvest in Paso Robles was small, and the quality of the fruit was exceptional with concentrated, intense flavors.
